National Energy System Map (NESM): driving the path to net zero
Carsten will be joining his project partners to launch NESM at ENIC. NESM is the first project bringing together all of Britain’s mainland gas and electricity networks to build a detailed digital map of the energy system. It has pioneered new data sharing agreements between the networks and brought with it the standardisation of data, overcoming a key obstacle to net zero and putting active measures in place to meet system transition targets.
The map will provide customers with information about energy network assets, their locations and ownership, supporting investment decisions, local flexibility markets and the connection of new renewable energy. Find out how to use the map and how it could benefit your organisation.
