Heat Street: working with communities on low carbon heating, 13 October

Rona who will take you through UK Power Networks' data-driven research findings for Heat Street which uncovered major insights on future heat decarbonisation pathways. The project took a data-driven look into the future to help local authorities and community energy groups forecast and plan for future deployment of energy efficiency and low carbon heating solutions in our areas.

Speaker profile

Innovation Project Lead Rona Mitchell currently runs UK Power Networks’ heat strategic project and a £4.5m portfolio of innovation projects. Rona joined the UK Power Networks Innovation team as a graduate engineer in 2016. 

Originally a chemical engineer, Rona joined the electricity industry after working as a process engineer, designing equipment for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. Her work covers a wide range of themes, from facilitating the uptake of low carbon heat to finding innovative ways of keeping the lights on more cheaply and efficiently.

Rona has an MEng in Engineering Science from Oxford University. Outside of work, she is an active Toastmaster and volunteer with Age UK.
