Energy Innovation Summit 2025 - Driving Innovation for CP30 Outcomes

The UK’s flagship innovation event for the energy sector returns for 2025. The Energy Innovation Summit will bring together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers and stakeholders to demonstrate how innovation is helping deliver on the Government’s Clean Power 2030 (CP30) ambitions and shape the future of UK’s grid.

Hosted by Energy Networks Association in partnership with Ofgem, this year’s theme Driving Innovation for CP30 Outcomes highlights the vital role of innovation in delivering net zero. The Summit will showcase pioneering projects, tackle critical system-wide challenges, and spotlight where innovation is needed to achieve the sector’s strategic goals.

What to Expect

Across two dynamic days, delegates will:

• Explore over 100 real-world innovation projects from across the UK networks in the Summit sessions or poster exhibition sessions.

• Hear from industry leaders, innovators, regulators, and academic voices on the strategic imperatives for CP30.

• Engage in interactive discussions, breakout panels, and a dedicated poster exhibition area.

• Network with peers and stakeholders working to drive decarbonisation, system flexibility, resilience, and consumer-focused innovation.

Themes for 2025 include:

1. Clean Power 2030 (CP2030)

Accelerating net zero through renewable integration, network transition, and enabling large-scale decarbonisation.

2. Flexibility & Market Evolution

Unlocking the value of flexibility from consumers, assets, and markets to optimise system operation and reduce costs.

3. Voltage Management

Supporting the low carbon transition through smarter, more adaptive voltage networks that integrate LCTs and manage new operational challenges.

4. Network Infrastructure & Asset Optimisation

Enhancing network assets through advanced monitoring, reinforcement, maintenance strategies, and innovations such as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology.

5. Consumer Participation & Transition

Enabling an inclusive transition by supporting customers to decarbonise, improving connections, and involving communities in shaping a fair energy future.

6. System Resilience & Security

Focusing on cyber and climate resilience, fault management, and adapting network operations for an increasingly complex energy system.

7. Whole Systems Integration

Bringing together electricity, gas, hydrogen and heat systems through integrated planning and strategic delivery, with focus on projects like ASTI.
