''Rising to the challenge of decarbonisation - Latest in network innovation and setting the strategic context to facilitate the delivery of a clean energy superpower''
Energy Innovation Summit 2024, ECL, Liverpool
Energy Networks Association is delighted to announce the UK’s flagship dissemination event for the electricity and gas networks operators - the Energy Innovation Summit 2024. Join us to hear from the senior figures in innovation and industry, learn from innovation projects and get involved in discussions how innovation can help us deliver the Net Zero.
Continuing the legacy of network innovation events, the Summit offers delegates the chance to learn from the latest innovation projects and join discussions with directors and heads of innovation in network companies on the strategic challenges of delivering networks for the future energy system.
This year, Energy Innovation Summit is focused on the topic of “Accelerating innovation to deliver net zero”. Summit conversations will be centred on learning how innovation to date can strategically support the delivery of targets and identifying the innovation challenges to achieve the Net Zero targets. There are three tracks within the Summit:
• Accelerating system capacity to enable mass integration of low carbon technologies – focusing on the challenges of accommodating load growth through flexibility, efficient use of networks and a more strategic approach to connections.
• Challenges of operating in Net Zero and enabling an inclusive transition for all - addresses the gaps in what is required to support customers to decarbonise in an equitable and efficient way, developing sustainable operations, and preparing for the adoption hydrogen.
• Ensuring the reliability and resilience of an increasingly critical electricity system – focuses on technical approaches to improve network reliability under higher utilisation and solutions for enabling resilient operations.
These themes will be discussed through sharing the latest learning and knowledge from over 100 recent innovation projects led by the energy networks. Across the two days of the Summit these projects will be presented in three parallel streams of focused presentation sessions and the poster exhibition area.
In addition to the showcasing of the innovation projects, the Summit explores the strategic challenges and solutions to reach Net Zero through dedicated sessions on where innovation is needed to address the gaps in delivering Net Zero targets from the energy networks perspective. We look forward to your involvement in these conversations on 29th-30th October 2024 in Liverpool.
